Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.1 Timothy 4:1-3
We are living out what the Bible calls ‘Perilous Times’. First we are hit with what many believe to be the manufactured COVID-19 virus that almost brought our nation to a permanent standstill. Now the nation is experiencing riots all around the country were businesses and personal property are systematically destroyed all in the name of justice… The enemy is hard at work.
But there is glorious light and blessings at the end of the tunnel. Exposure, justice, judgment, and restoration. God is in the business of saving people, showing His goodness, and bringing honor and glory to His name. As you read the scripture below, let it reflect on the world around you today. How much can you relate too? The last verse is very telling and from the context, I believe it possibly refers to the period of the last days mentioned in verse 1 while the church is still present on earth.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was. 2 Timothy 3:1-9
Prayer is powerful and more often than not, we forget how powerful it really is. The link below is one of the best reads I have read concerning prayer. Pray for our country and administration. Pray for restoration.
The following excerpt is from Douglas D. Stauffer. The entire article can be read at the link below and is a must read for any serious student of bible prophecy.
Many Bible teachers believe and teach that if the First Century “church fathers” did not teach, preach, or write concerning any particular matter, then it lacks credibility. These Bible teachers surmise that anything new must be false. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, history reveals a progressive illumination born from a practical application of the word of God. God has always progressively revealed His truths as the need arose for man to know any particular truth.
Progressive illumination explains why the current generation has focused on end times’ events more than all preceding generations combined.
When the article speaks of television, satellites and the internet, also take note the number of digital billboards popping up around the country. Europe is already covered with them. They are all connected to the internet and can display whatever is sent to them. Think about that. Why the push for so many now?
The small town where the author of this blog lives was billboard free until recently when a law was overturned by a state supreme court as being unlawful. Four digital billboards have since appeared in the last 3 months.
There is nothing like a day at the beach enjoying the relaxing rhythm of the waves hitting the shore while watching your children at play. But then on the distant horizon of the ocean, you notice storm clouds beginning to develop. You estimate the distance and make a small mental note of it, returning to watch your children. Soon you begin to see flashing lightning in the distance and your sense of alertness picks up. Next you begin to hear the soft rumble of thunder and notice the clouds have moved closer. You give your kids a warning that their time is limited. Now the gentle breeze has turned into a constant wind and most of the sky has become covered in clouds. You tell the children it is time to pack up and go. Before you can finish, a large bolt of lightning strikes in the area with a large thunderous boom. You feel a sprinkle on your face and realize the fast, approaching storm is now imminent!
When it comes to the Rapture, one of the first and most quoted verses of scripture used to defend the coming of the Rapture is Matthew 24:26But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Just as all scripture is, this verse is absolute truth in that, no man knows the day or hour of the Rapture. But we also cannot hold one verse of scripture over others in order to render them meaningless. All scripture is truth.
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:4-8
In the verses above, Jesus is telling the disciples what will take place before the Tribulation. Notice He says “all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet” and “All these are the beginning of sorrows“.
In Marks account he adds “troubles”.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. Mar 13:8
Luke adds “fearful sights” and “great signs from heaven”.
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Luk 21:11
One can argue that these events have been taking place since the time Jesus mentioned them. So is there really any difference today? There is a fundamental difference today, and that is for the first time, all of these events are now happening simultaneously. Unlike in the past, we now have the ability to track these events and pictures thanks to social media sites, the Internet, and global satellite systems making it possible for us to follow God’s commandment to “watch”. Prior to this technology, it was not possible for the average person to know what was happening around the world. The country of Israel is now 66 years old since it’s prophetic birth in 1948. Jesus said that generation (of 1948) will not pass away until all things be fulfilled. Think about that.
Let’s look at each of these events. These are just a minimal amount of evidence. One can simply do a Google search to find many, many more.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many
the number of big earthquakes during the first three months of 2014 was more than double the yearly average of what we have experienced since 1979? And did you know that the number of earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S. has quintupled in recent years?
Most Americans don’t realize that the greatest earthquakes in U.S. history happened along the New Madrid fault zone. Back during the early part of the 19th century, a series of immensely powerful earthquakes rattled the entire eastern half of the nation. Documents that we have from that era say that those earthquakes were so powerful that they were felt more than 1,000 miles away.
As Christians, we are not to fear, but find comfort:
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so will God bring with Him those also who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord: that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first;
17 then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
24 and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works,
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as ye see the Day approaching.
ISIL continues to tear across Syria and Iraq leaving a deadly trail of brutality reminiscent of the Holocaust and which the media largely chooses to ignore. These terrorist are of a different breed and intend on ruling the Islamic world; that is if they could.
ISIL has turned to internet media to spread their reign of terror and intimidation. What they are showing is brutality at its worse killing anyone, regardless of religion, that does not support their views.
The Sunni Muslim extremist group formerly known as ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) is using social media websites like Twitter and Facebook and video upload sites like YouTube and LiveLeak.com to strike fear across the Middle East as it wages its brutal campaign to create a caliphate that extends from northern Africa to Iraq.
It is quite possible that ISIL will be responsible for some major Biblical prophecy fulfillment. They currently control a large swath of land from Syria to Iraq extending over 300 miles.
Jordan has sent troops along its eastern border with Iraq in concern of a possible ISIL invasion after what they have done in Iraq. The Jordanian army probably would not be able to defend itself from a full assault by ISIL and would depend on US and Israeli forces to help.
The Burden of Damascus.
17 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Lord of hosts. Isaiah 17:1-3
Not only Damascus, but the cities of Aroer are destroyed. Biblical, Aroer is roughly the territory of modern day Jordan. The events of today are moving at light speed. Will we see this prophecy unfold in the very near future?
Below is a very interesting article from the Daily News out of Turkey on how Islam views Islam concerning ISIL. It is worth the time to read. Part is posted below.
The terror organization ISIL, or with its new name the Islamic State (IS), is it an “issue” reflecting social diseases? Or is it a “project” staged by imperialists to denigrate Islam?
Issue or project?
If we regard ISIL as an “issue,” then we will need to research with scientific methods to understand why these bigoted, savage movements emerge in Muslim societies from the Middle East to Afghanistan, to Pakistan.
If we regard ISIL as a “project” the thing to do is fight “imperialism.” In several Islamic websites and in some newspaper columns, while ISIL’s brutality is condemned, it is written that ISIL is a “project.”
“ISIL is a project developed and grown so ‘Islam and the IS are hated.’ Global powers are staging and supporting this so that Islam is seen as terror. It is serving their dirty ideals … The imperialists are using Muslims as tools to break up the Islamic geography.” (Faruk Köse, Yeni Akit, July 6, 2014)
