Israel Political Unrest

As if the world hatred for Israel is not enough, their government is now in a political firestorm. PM Netanyahu fired two of his coalition ministers accusing them of an attempt to push him out of office. Now the Likud, Israel’s right wing party, has agreed to vote in favor of the opposition-proposed bills to dissolve the Knesset and go to elections.

The Knesset is the legislative branch of the Israeli government, the Knesset passes all laws, elects the President and Prime Minister (although the latter is ceremonially appointed by the President), approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. This will be the second time in two years the people of Israel will vote.

Elections, which would presumably be held by mid-March of next year. Current polls suggest that Netanyahu and his Likud will handily win the election, and that the right-wing overall will benefit, while leading centrist and left-wing parties will almost all lose mandates.

If this election results in high favor for the Likud, will it be the last Israeli government before the Tribulation and will it be the government to bring in the multiple prophecies currently held in place by a thread?

bible-sunset-2

Meanwhile, among other discord, Hamas has stated the unity government established with Fatah over the summer has ended lasting only six months. Fatah is the Palestinian Authority with President Mahmoud Abbas.

The relationship between Jordan and Israel continues to erode. Jordan took the extraordinary step this month of recalling its ambassador to Israel to protest police incursions, provocative visits by Israeli politicians and the treatment of Muslim worshipers at al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City. The ambassador has not returned.

And perhaps the most important threat to watch is Iran. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday the armed forces should increase their combat capability regardless of political considerations, in an apparent allusion to continuing nuclear talks with the West aimed at easing tension in the Middle East.

There is a prophetic clock that has been counting down now for centuries. When the clock reaches a certain point, the prophecies will start coming in rapid fire. Time on the clock is running out……tick tock……..

Jerusalem – a Cup of Trembling

If we want to know where we are in the God’s prophetic timeline, we must always look to Israel, for Israel is at the center of all prophecy yet to take place. The closer we get to prophetic events, the more clear the scriptures become. Perhaps that is now the case with the following prophetic passage:

The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.  Zech. 12:1-3

And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God. In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. Zech. 12:5-6

The word “governors” is a translation of the Hebrew, eluf, meaning “brigadier” as in a brigadier general of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Jerusalem is the location of the Temple Mount where the last Jewish temple resided before its destruction in 70 A.D. by the Romans. Bible prophecy says that Israel will build a third temple and perform sacrifices during the Tribulation. The Temple Institute has been hard a work preparing for the day that the new temple is complete. In order for this to happen, Israel must regain complete control of Jerusalem. Today, that is not the case.

TempleMountandWesternWallaerialfromswtb010703235_labeled9

Violence at the Temple Mount and in Jerusalem has escalated in the last month causing tension between Israel and Jordan, the official “keeper” of the Temple Mount. Last week Rabbi Yehuda Glick, former director of The Temple Institute, was shot by a Palestinian following a presentation at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. In response, Israel closed the Temple Mount against Muslim worshipers for the day. Jordan responded by threatening to revoke peace treaty over the Temple Mount and recently recalled its ambassador to Israel over Jerusalem ‘violations’. Meanwhile Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas incited violence at the Temple Mount over the shooting incident and called the closure of al-Aqsa holy site a ‘declaration of war’. In another attack of violence today, an Arab driver plowed his vehicle into a crowd of people at a light rail station.

Perhaps most troubling is ISIS since they have already threatened to cut off Jordan’s King Abdullah’s head and have since threatened to: Islamic Caliphate will be established in the Sinai, calling it the ”first step towards the invasion of Jerusalem”. ISIS has made huge gains in the middle east mostly unreported by the media and to make matters worse Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, Egypt’s most active militant group, has sworn allegiance to Islamic State.

ISIS Temple Mount

At some point, war will break out again in the region and the God of Israel and their superior firepower will eliminate the enemy in Jerusalem allowing them to build the 3rd temple. Israel continues to build their military prowess and now have the best Air force in the world and have the most powerful military in the Middle East today. Israel has continued to improve on its Iron Dome by adapting for Intercepts at Sea. With their powerful military and knowing they will be victorious in all the wars leading up to the Tribulation, moving them quickly to the powerhouse of the Middle East, it begs the question, what actually will the signing of the covenant with the Antichrist and Israel consist of?

When it is all said and done, the Lord will descend and will stand upon the Mount of Olives.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. Zec 14:4

British MPs vote an overwhelming ‘Yes’ to Palestine

274 support motion urging ‘the government to recognize the State of Palestine,’ while only 12 oppose, in vote laden with symbolism

British lawmakers voted resoundingly Monday in favor of a Palestinian state, in a debate unlikely to change government policy but laden with political symbolism.

The ayes carried the vote with 274 votes, against only 12 nays. Opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband, who is Jewish, voted in support of the motion.

The House of Commons debate was watched around the world after Sweden drew anger from Israel this month for saying it would recognize Palestine.

The Blood Moon of Sukkot

As of this writing, the 2nd Blood Moon of the 2014 – 2015 tetrad will commence in two days on the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. This is the last tetrad for the century. The previous Blood Moon was on Passover of April 15th 2014. Eighty two days later the Israel/Hamas conflict started and lasted for 50 days.

Blood Moons

A lunar eclipse is a sign of trouble for Israel. The previous two tedrads saw significant events in the history of Israel. Will there be another critical event just around the corner for Israel? Nothing is certain, but time will tell……

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Joel 2:31

Israel at the Crossroads

Sweden’s new government is set to recognize the State of Palestine, in a move that will make it the first member of the European Union to do so.

“The two-state solution requires mutual recognition and a will to co-exist peacefully. Sweden will therefore recognize the state of Palestine,” he added.

He didn’t say when or how that would happen.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is set to ask the UN Security Council to vote on a resolution that would seek an Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines in a timeframe of two years.

Some Israeli politicians see in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stirring speech before the UN General Assembly the final nail in the coffin of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In his speech, Netanyahu made clear that the current “template” for peace has failed, and that Israel is not prepared to repeat the mistakes of the Lebanon and Gaza withdrawals in Judea and Samaria (the so-called “West Bank”).

Did Netanyahu Bury the Two-State Solution?

Israel may consider the use of force against Iran if world powers accept a nuclear agreement that Jerusalem finds unacceptable, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu suggested on Wednesday.

All I’ll say is, Israel always reserves the right to defend itself,” Netanyahu said, asked what his government would do if a bad deal was signed and sealed.

Pressed on whether that might lead to the use of preemptive force, Netanyahu said: “I’m the only Israeli who doesn’t talk about military operations.”

One step closer to the 3rd Temple

The coming construction of the 3rd temple in Israel has taken another step closer to fruition.

A 60-day international crowdfunding campaign to finance the construction of a modern Third Temple on the Temple Mount garnered $105,000 worth of donations from over 900 donors around the globe by Rosh Hashana, the Temple Institute said Sunday.

“The funds raised from the campaign will be used to continue the research of the Institute and to commission additional architectural plans,” the statement said. “The architects will fuse Jewish law with modern technology to prepare for a fully modern Third Temple, Kosher to the letter of the law…”

Hamas ultimatum

Failing a Gaza seaport, the war goes on and thousands of Israelis will die

Hours before the 72-hour ceasefire was due to expire Friday morning, Aug. 8, the Palestinian Hamas’ military wing slapped down an ultimatum before Israel: Either allow the Gaza Strip to have an open seaport – which would be tantamount to lifting the Gaza blockade – or prepare for a long and brutal war of attrition with thousands of fatalities.

Hamas’ decision about extending the ceasefire was tensely awaited Thursday night after Israel’s acceptance. Instead, the Palestinian Islamists declared that the war would go on unless Israel bowed to their dictates.
Israel’s envoys had previously rejected their demand for a deep sea Gaza port in the talks taking place in Cairo under Egyptian auspices.

Abu Obeida, spokesman of Hamas’ military wing, Ezz e-Din Al-Qassam,  also announced that his movement had acquired new rockets with larger warheads than the more than 3,000 fired against the Israeli population in the month-long conflict, and they would be aimed at Israel’s Ben Gurion international airport. Israel would be severed from its air transport ties with the outside world, he said.
“We demand our fundamental rights,” said the Hamas spokesman, in a statement that was broadcast live Thursday night. “We call on our envoys to the Cairo talks not to continue negotiations until Israel surrenders to our demand for a seaport. The war is not over until the siege of Gaza ends.”
