Land of Sojourners

The Hebrew word Pĕlesheth means Philistia; “land of sojourners” and is used eight times in the KJV bible in the following manner: Palestina (3x), Philistia (3x), Philistine (1x), Palestine (1x). The prophetical word Palestine, in its modern day exact spelling, is used only once! This passage speaks to the Lord’s end-time judgment upon the enemies of Israel. The name Jehoshaphat means “Jehovah is Judge” or “the Lord judges”.

For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines sojourners as “a period of time when you stay in a place as a traveler or guest”. Dictionary.com defines as “a temporary stay:” and “ to stay for a time in a place; live temporarily”.

The ayes carried the vote with 274 votes, against only 12 nays. Opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband, who is Jewish, voted in support of the motion.
