And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn: And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer. Num 19:5-6
The last red heifer candidate born in New Jersey back in 2015 was eventually disqualified by the strict Jewish standards of a perfect heifer. The latest candidate was born in Israel, a more fitting place for the Red Heifer’s birth. As a reminder, the current PM of Israel is the only one born in Israel.
The red heifer was born on August 28, 2018 and must be three years of age before it can be sacrificed to cleanse the temple. That would be September of 2021 time frame and depending on how you view a generation in the bible, would not over reach the 80 year generation given in Psalm 90:10 from the year Israel became a nation in May of 1948. Adding 7 years (Tribulation period) to 2021 brings us to 2028, and 2028 minus 1948 = 80.
2028 is the year 5788 on the Jewish calendar – 8, the number for new beginnings. You can see the calf in the video below.
The Temple Institute has announced a bold new initiative to identify, select and register kohanim-priests who would be eligible to participate in the process of preparing the Red Heifer, which is used in the ritual of purifying Jews from the tuma-impurity of the dead.
This unprecedented move represents the second stage of the Institute’s project to restore the concept of biblical purity into the world, something that will have immense repercussions on Jewish observance as we know it. Even before the Temple is rebuilt, the reinstatement of halakhically approved kohanim is a pre-requisite for preparation of the Red Heifer which will enable the people of Israel to perform numerous Torah-based commandments…….
