Today marks the 1st day of Passover and the 50 day countdown to Pentecost. In the book of Exodus chapter 12, Moses instructs the Jewish people to place the blood of a lamb on their door in 3 places in order to avoid the destroyer.
And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. Exodus 12:22-23
If we draw a line from each point on the door the blood was put, it would look like this.
It makes a triangle pointing up towards Heaven and represents the act of man looking towards God. Now fast forward to around 32 AD. Christ dies on the cross for all mankind leaving blood on the cross at the hands and feet.
Connecting the dots we can see an upside down triangle pointing down as a sacrifice from God to man.
Combine the two triangles and we have:
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Truth – what is it? Perhaps the best way to define it is “the property of being in accord with fact or reality” (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/truth). Truth is the opposite of a lie or false representation. Truth is tangible as in 2 + 2 will always = 4 or touching fire with your bare hand will result in pain; it produces the same result each and every time. The same cannot be said of a lie. Truth is the enemy of the enemy.
People in today’s world of self indulgence and zombie attitude have blurred the lines between truth and a lie in just about every aspect of life. The bible says “that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away”. 1 Tim. 3:1-5. Can that be any more evident than it is today??
Each of the 4 gospels describes Jesus as one of the 4 distinct aspects of His being. The Gospel of John describes Him as the “Son of God”. The word “truth” in the Gospel of John is used in 22 verses for a total of 27 times. In Jhn 8:32, Jesus said “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free“. I thank God I know the truth, for I am truly free.
In biblical numbers 22 represents “spiritual light”. Matthew 22 and Genesis 22 display this while the 22nd book of the bible is Songs, a book about an intimate relationship between two people. The number 27 represents “Holy truth” and can be seen in Matthew 27 and Genesis 27. Daniel is the 27th Book of the Bible. Daniel was told what was in the “scripture of TRUTH” (Dan 10:21). There are 27 books in the New Testament and they reveal the whole Truth of Jesus Christ.
I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 1 Jo. 2:21-22.
There is only good or evil, the truth or a lie, and that is the truth.
And finally, the Truth that can set you free, the Truth seen in the shape of a cross.
