There is much speculation out there as to whom the Antichrist is or may be. One of the most referenced is that he will be Islamic. There is simply no biblical evidence to support this and that is clear if you use:

The Tribulation is all about Israel, not Islam.
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Dan 9:24
Their should be no argument in the stated list of 7 purposes above – thy people (the Jews), thy holy city (Jerusalem). On a side note, if you are a Christian, you should rejoice that the 70th week (Tribulation) prophecy is not determined upon you. For once a person accepts Christ as Lord and Savior, they are reconciled, righteous, and have the power over sin.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Rom 5:10
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 2Co 5:18
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Rom 6:14
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2Co 5:21
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1Co 1:30
The Jewish people are looking for a descendant of King David to be their messiah and will not accept anyone other than a Jew.
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. Jer 23:5
As Christians, we know that prophecy was already fulfilled when Jesus, a Jew from the tribe of Judah, came as the ultimate sacrifice for man, but was rejected by the majority of the Jews.
The entry below is taken from the Judaism 101 website.
The Mashiach
The mashiach will be a great political leader descended from King David (Jeremiah 23:5). The mashiach is often referred to as “mashiach ben David” (mashiach, son of David). He will be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments (Isaiah 11:2-5). He will be a charismatic leader, inspiring others to follow his example. He will be a great military leader, who will win battles for Israel. He will be a great judge, who makes righteous decisions (Jeremiah 33:15). But above all, he will be a human being, not a god, demi-god or other supernatural being.
What evidence from the bible suggest he will be Jewish? 1 John speaks much in regards to the antichrist, but two verses in particular shed light on from whom he shall come.
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 1 John 2:18-19
There is lots of information in these two verses. First, it speaks to the last time or the last generation of Jews. It says they have heard “that antichrist” shall come – the one that comes during the tribulation, but the verses also speak of “many antichrists” during the last generation. I do not suggest to know whom they may be, but the text goes on to say “they went out from us”, that is to say out from the Jews and “that antichrist” shall also be a Jew. But there is more from Zechariah.
And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened. Zec. 11:15-17
So here we see he is called a foolish and idol “shepherd” while Jesus called Himself the “good shepherd” in Jhn 10:11. Just as Judas left the flock and betrayed Jesus, the passage also says he “leaveth the flock” perhaps as in a Rabbi, prophet or other Jewish religious functionaries. The damage that comes upon his arm and right eye confirms with Rev. 13:13 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
The bible suggest he will come from the tribe of Dan and tells us from whence he shall come.
16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. Genesis 49:16
It is interesting the word heels is mentioned in the above verse causing the rider to fall backwards as God speaking to the serpent in Gen 3:15 says “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Jesus symbolized as a lion, came from the tribe of Judah and the Antichrist in his attempt to mimic all the Lord does, will spring from the ancient territory of Bashan located just to the south of modern day Damascus.
14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him. Hosea 5:14
22 And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion’s whelp: he shall leap from Bashan. Deuteronomy 33:22
Looking at the map above, one can see Damascus is a stones throw away from Bashan and the city of Dan is just to the NE and arguably part of Bashan. This is extremely interesting because the original name of the city of Dan was Laish and in the Hebrew text means “Lion”.
And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born unto Israel: howbeit the name of the city was Laish at the first.Jdg 18:29And the children of Dan set up the graven image:…..Jdg 18:30
This city is of importance as the bible mentions it twice, but with two different names. The name Leshem was the other name for the city of Dan. The Hebrew name of Leshem means “precious stone”. At one time, every precious stone was the covering of Lucifer.
And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. Jos 19:47
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Eze 28:13
Today the area of the city of Dan and Bashan is occupied by the Golan Heights. The area that PM Benjamin Netanyahu recently said we will never surrender Golan Heights.
So we can conclude from the Word that the Antichrist will most likely be a Jew, possibly from the tribe of Dan, and most likely from the city of Dan/Bashan.
The Antichrist is not Islamic and not anyone in the lime light as of today. When the time is right, that is in God’s time, he will be revealed when the Holy Spirit removes His withholding, but not until then.
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2 Th 2:4-8
