Prophetic Hermon?

Hermon our Mount Hermon is a very important place in the Bible. It is thought by many to be the place where the infamous Watchers of the Genesis 6 account descended to Earth to mate with the daughters of men, bringing about the giants and eventual flood of Noah. Used a total of 13 times in the OT, the number for sin, death, and judgment, Mount Hermon is a strategic advantage point for Israel.

Mount Hermon was part of Israeli territory in the OT after Moses defeated Og, the giant King of Bashan, and two kings of the Amorites. The city of Aroer is also mentioned in these passages. More on that later.

And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amoritesthe land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon; (Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;) All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man. And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenitesand to the Gadites. And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants. Deuteronomy 3:8-13

It was Mount Hermon and the surrounding area that Joshua continued the conquest after Moses and distributed the land to the 12 tribes. The general vicinity held great battles of conquest.

As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same; Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal–gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. There was not a citythatmade peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle. For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. Joshua 11:15-20.
Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east: Joshua 12-1

You can see on this biblical map the locations of the mentioned circled and the tribal areas of the 12 tribes.

For all the wars that took place around Mount Hermon, Hermon means “a sanctuary” in the Hebrew language. Psalms 133 is very interesting. If we match the current year to Psalms prophetically as many do, then this Psalm is roughly 9 years from now. The brethren would be Jew and Gentile alike, Hermon representing the Gentiles and Zion the Jewish people. When will brethren dwell in unity…

Behold, how good and how pleasant it isfor brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Psalms 133

Today Netanyahu visited Mount Hermon recently captured by the IDF. From this location the enemy can be seen for miles around. Netanyahu is God’s chosen King and perhaps even has prophetic tendencies as many of his statements since the October 7th attack have been just that. The people of Iran, sick of the suppression by the Islamic regime, are even calling Netanyahu their “avenger” and have even named a street in Tehran after him. Israel will continue to get stronger right up to the time of Jacob’s Troubles. The scene on Mount Hermon with Netanyahu and the IDF was eerily prophetic.

Statements from Netanyahu’s visit to Mount Hermon:

“Defense Minister Israel Katz on a joint visit with Prime Minister Netanyahu to the summit of Mount Hermon: “The Hermon summit is the eyes of the State of Israel to identify threats near and far. We look out here to the right at Hezbollah in Lebanon, to the left at Damascus– and across the way we see the State of Israel. The IDF is here to protect the communities of the Golan Heights and the citizens of the State of Israel from any threat, from the most important place where we can do so.”
“Prime Minister Netanyahu at the peak of Mount Hermon: “We will remain in this important place until another arrangement is found that will ensure Israel’s security.”

A very strategic place to mount a radar. “Experts show that if Israel installs a radar on the summit of Mount Hermon, Israel will have coverage all the way to Iraq”.

 

Remember the city of Aroer mention in Deuteronomy? The cities are mentioned again with the destruction of Damascus in Isaiah 17, and it will be once again the “children of Israel” that cause the damage. These cities reside in modern Jordan, revealing the extent of damage from this prophecy. I think from Israel’s strategic position on Mount Hermon, the decision will be made to attack Damascus.

The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. Isaiah 17:1-2
In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation. Isaiah 17:9

President Trump, I believe is God’s chosen King to help usher in the end. Because he is evil, no, because the relationship, protection, and level of cooperation he will bring with Israel and Netanyahu will only make the world hate Israel more. 

If you are familiar with all the events of Israel this past year, Psalms 124 certainly summed it up. It was miracle upon miracle for Israel.

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalms 124

 

 

 

 

 

Oh Damascus!

The face of the Middle East is changing very rapidly. Rebel forces backed by Turkey have made a huge swath through the Syrian Assad regime taking it out in less than 2 weeks. Assad has sent his family to Russia and as of this writing Russian media from the Kremlin: “former Syrian President Bashar Assad and his family members are in Russia. They were granted political asylum for humanitarian reasons”.

The last holdout for Assad was Damascus and has fallen into the hands of the rebels. The rebels or Hayʼat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is led by Abu Mohammad al-Jolani (previously Al-Qaeda). They are backed by Turkey.

Meanwhile, Israel has taken Mount Hermon in southern Syria. Listen to Netanyahu in this important announcement. 

With no specific timeline, I will make a prediction and of course I can be 100% wrong.  At some point we will see Isaiah 17 play out in Damascus under this new leadership. Israel will strike Damascus as the Rebels are more of a threat than the Assad axis was. Netanyahu had already threatened to destroy Damascus after Hamas attacked Israel in October of 2023. “The enemy wanted war, and it shall receive war. Israel’s actions will resonate for generations to come“.  “IDF will destroy Damascus, target Syrian President Assad if Hezbollah joins war.”

Iran is weaker than ever now that their supply line to Hezbollah has been cut off by the rebels. And will only become weaker especially if Israel attacks their nuclear facilities. However, I feel they may play a role in Isaiah 17. In desperation, Iran may make a deal with the rebels to attack or harm Israel. You may remember the major blast at the port of Beirut caused by ammonium nitrate fertilizer back in August of 2020. One of the largest non-nuclear explosions on record. Supposedly there is still a much larger amount of this fertilizer in Damascus (placed by Hezbollah) which I believe will be the cause of that city’s destruction rather than nuclear.

There is yet too much prophecy in the general area for a nuclear explosion to take place. People would have to avoid that area for a very long time. If it is destroyed by the fertilizer, there is no radioactive fallout to avoid, and life goes on. Again, I could be wrong and nuclear is the destructive force. One thing is certain, the destruction is caused by Israel, but Israel will also suffer from this wide conflict. Not only is Damascus destroyed, but other cities in Jordan are abandoned.

In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation. Isaiah 17:9

And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean. Isaiah 17:4

The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. Isaih 17:2

Isaiah 17 may also be the trigger for Ezekiel Gog & Magog war. Why? “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:” Ezekiel 38:4. Turn thee back from what? The destruction of Damascus. Israel is becoming if not already the main superpower in this region and the Damascus ordeal will be too much for the enemy to dismiss and they will attack with a very large coalition to try and put an end to Israel’s victories. Regardless, it would be very difficult for Gog to march his army towards Israel if a nuclear warhead goes off in Damascus.

BTW, as I have mentioned, Gog is not Putin and Russia is not the leader of the Gog & Magog war. Identifying Rosh as Russia and Meshech as Moscow is a false analogy by making connections simply because words sound the same. Gog will be a spiritual entity (fallen angel). How do we know this? Gog will return at the end of the Millennial reign.

And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. Revelation 20:8

Just for fun, someone pointed out the similarity between Zelensky and Jolani. They even were the same clothes.

 

A statement from HTS: “We announce the end of this dark era and the beginning of a new chapter for Syria. In this new Syria, everyone coexists in peace, justice prevails, and truth is upheld”

We shall see.

Syria ready for ‘wars’ with Israel – FM

Damascus is fully prepared to defend its territory in a potential military conflict with Israel, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said on Sunday as the regional crisis continues.
Mekdad was speaking at a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Damascus, where they discussed joint support for Palestinians during Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza.
Mekdad said that Syria “has been resisting” Israel since 1948, when the first full-blown war broke out between several Arab nations and the newly established Jewish state.
“Syria has fought wars against the Israeli occupation, and is ready to fight wars, but it will decide when and how,” the foreign minister stressed, noting the importance of the Golan Heights – a part of southwestern Syria controlled by Israel since 1967.
Ending the Israeli occupation of the Golan Heights is “at the top of our priorities,” Makded insisted, adding that “Syria is ready to pay the price for all these liberation operations.”

Putin, will he Last?

I first posted on this in January of this year. If you have not already heard, Putin is in big trouble as a coup attempt is currently in progress led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, a warlord and former friend of Putin who is now in charge of a large Russian mercenary force called the Wagner group. The Wagner group is currently within reach of Moscow and many reports are stating the Russian soldiers loyal to Putin are defecting to the Wagner group. In desperation, Putin’s defense is currently destroying bridges and roads to prevent the Wagner group from entering Moscow. This is big news. Whomever survives this most likely will be part of the Ez. 38 coalition. It seems likely Putin may not survive this due to his close ties to Israel as stated in original post below. Perhaps Ez. 38 is still some time in the future yet since Israel is not yet secure (Ez. 38:11). 

There are many reports that Vladmir Putin is sick and no longer able to lead the country. Typically, I would not post on something of this nature, but it may possibly be true. One can Google and see many articles will pop up. 

If this story turns out to be true, it makes more sense from a Biblical Prophecy perspective. Vladmir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu have always had a strong relationship and respect for one another. If another rises to power in Russia, we could first see the prophecy of Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 fulfilled with the destruction of Damascus and Elam. You can search for those in this blog if you are not familiar with the prophecies. 

Putin calls Netanyahu as Zelensky visits Washington

The two also discussed regional issues such as Iran’s attempt to entrench itself militarily in Syria, which borders Israel. During his previous term as prime minister, Netanyahu worked out a deconfliction agreement with Russia whose army operates in Syria, to allow Israel to conduct aerial attacks against Iranian targets and their proxies without tangling with Russian forces.

Netanyahu told Putin he “is determined to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and to halt its attempts to establish a military base on our northern border.”

According to the Kremlin, the two men “expressed confidence that Russian-Israeli relations will continue to develop consistently through contacts at different levels.”

Warning to Iran: Joint US-Israel military exercise ‘most significant to date’

Juniper Oak 23 involves thousands of troops practicing land, sea, air, cyber and space drills in Israel in an implied warning to Iran.

With the Syrian/Iran threat removed from Damascus and the Iranian nuclear threat removed, it would perhaps then pave the road to the Gog Magog war of Ezekiel 38. For this war cannot happen until Israel meets the conditions below which is currently not the case.

And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, Ez. 38:11

Regardless how this all pans out, time is literally running out. We are quickly moving towards the “Time of the End”. As the current Israeli administration is the most “far right” ever, we are bound to see something this year.

Ukraine or Israel

There certainly has been no shortage of “rumors of war” lately. China attacking Taiwan, North Korea against South, Iran against Israel, and the most pressing, Russia against the Ukraine. Will we now see the “wars”? 

If you want to understand what is going on with Russia and the Ukraine, I highly encourage you to watch the video update below from Amir. Will this turn into an all out war between Russia and the western powers, maybe but it could also be the catalyst that brings in the many end time war prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled. I agree with Amir that Isaiah 17 must be fulfilled before the Ezekiel 38 war comes about. I would take that a step further and say maybe even the prophecy of Nuclear Iran and the Prophecy against Elam 

The latest rounds of Iran nuclear deal should be wrapping up soon and will most certainly be more in their favor prompting a possible disaster on their Bushehr nuclear facility which is said to already house nuclear weapons. If that is destroyed, the next logical position of attack of retaliation by Iran would come from Damascus prompting the Isaiah 17 prophecy. 

This may drag on for a while or may commence very quickly, but we must continue to watch, waiting patiently for our Lord.

Putin orders start of Russian military withdrawal from Syria, says ‘objectives achieved’

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to start the withdrawal of forces from Syria starting Tuesday. Russia will however keep a military presence at the port of Tartus and at the Khmeimim airbase to observe ceasefire agreements.

Putin to Assad, Tehran: You want to carry on fighting? Count me out

A deep rift with Tehran over the continuation of the Syrian war and an irreconcilable spat with Syrian ruler Bashar Assad over his future prompted Russian President Vladimir’s shock order Monday, March 14, for the “main part” of Russian military forces to quit Syria the next morning. This is reported by debkafile’s military and intelligence sources. Moscow would retain a military presence at the naval port of Tartous and the Hmeymim airbase outside Latakia.

The Russian president did not fix a timeline for the military withdrawal – only its start. Neither did he promise to discontinue all military operations in Syria.

He did say only that “The task put before the defense ministry and Russian armed forces has on the whole been fulfilled” and he spoke of a “fundamental turnaround in the fight against international terrorism.”

To some extent, Russia has kept a volatile country from going completely ballistic. Once the majority of the Russian military is gone, will the country resume its’ tailspin? Will Iran or Hezbollah be the instigator?

We know the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17) is yet to occur, and we know it is caused by the children of Israel.

One would think Israel would not create this type of destruction as long as a country as powerful as Russia were present, but now they leave….what’s next? Will this prophecy occur in the near future or will it commence in the seven year Tribulation? Will it be before or after Gog and Magog? Time will tell, but this author leans towards a pre-Gog & Magog occurrence.
